Byrne Nicola

Nicola has a BA and a Grad Dip in Family Law Mediation. She is a nationally accredited mediator through NMAS, a nationally accreditated FDRP through the Attorney Generals Department, and a member of Victorian Alternative Dispute Resolution (VADR.)
Nicola is an experienced mediator in couple and family disputes, and is Practice Lead supporting and supervising mediation teams at FMC.
Nicola attended the EMAN training in Adelaide in 2015.
For the last two years Nicola has been an integral part of FMC’s development of a Seniors Mediation and Counselling service, working to build a model that is client centred, resilient, safe and effective.
Nicola believes that the significant differences between Family mediation and Elder mediation can fruitfully inform the development of a resourceful and reflective model for the latter.
FMC’s work in the field so far has been acknowledged by receiving a grant from the Lord Mayors Trust to provide a funded Elder Abuse Prevention service over a two year period and to appoint a full time coordinator for the project.
Our paper on Seniors Mediation given at the National Mediation Conference, Brisbane, 2016 is available.
