Galatee is a French and Australian citizen, and provides mediation services in both languages. In 2015 she founded Underwood Mediation, a private mediation practice. Formally trained in facilitative mediation and in Family Dispute Resolution, Galatee applies her skills in a variety of areas including:
- Family Dispute Resolution
- Workplace | Business
- Property | Wills & Estates
- Neighbourhood | Community
Galatee has also developed a particular interest in the challenges for bilingual and international families, as well as for multicultural workplaces.
After completing a Master in Laws in 2003 she worked extensively in the reintegration and correctional areas, both in France (since 2003) and in Australia (since 2008). More recently, she completed a Diploma of Counselling (2014), as well as the National Mediator Accreditation through UWA (2015) and the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner Accreditation course at Bond University (Qld).
While working in France with the not-for-profit sector Galatee initially gained experience in restorative justice mediation conferences. She believes in the benefits of the mediation process for individuals as well as for organisations. Her long term professional involvement with the justice system shaped her commitment to supporting people resolve their conflicts outside of Court, wherever possible.
