I have been a lawyer for over 40 years with a wide ranging practice.
I have also been an active member of numerous community associations.
I have elderly parents, adult children and grandchildren.
I came to mediation on the realisation that there must be a better way to resolve issues between people, organisations, institutions and governments. Conflict and differences are a fact of life. It is how we deal with these that is the issue.
As I grow older, and I hope grow wiser, I see more and more the need to resolve matters by discussion, which allows people to move onto the future. In elder matters, life is definitely too short to dwell on the past, or even be stuck in the present.
I have been involved as an individual and active mediator for over 20 years and continue to be so. More and more moving into issues involving older members of the community.
As well as being a Solicitor, I am an Accredited Mediator and a Specialist Mediator to the Law Institute of Victoria, a member of the Resolution Institute, a Mediator accredited under the National Mediation Accreditation Scheme. As well as I am Arbitrator Mediator with the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators and hold qualifications as a Family Law Accredited Mediator.
I actively mediate with Victorian Consumer Tribunal (VCAT) and Small Business Commissioner. I have been and am involved in training, counselling and coaching in mediation skills.
