Caroline Granger — Principal

BA, LLB | Master of Applied Laws (Family Law) | AMDRAS Accredited Mediator

Caroline Granger is a lawyer and accredited mediator based in Loddon Shire, in central Victoria’s agricultural landscape, where she is building Lawyer in Transit — a practice devoted to helping families navigate the transitions of aging, capacity, succession planning and inheritance.

Caroline began specialising in elder abuse at Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre, advising and advocating for older people experiencing financial exploitation, family conflict, and loss of autonomy. She has spent the following decade in family law in Bendigo and surrounds, acting in complex family law disputes — including for older persons — appearing in the Federal Circuit Court and Magistrates’ Court, and sitting on the professional side of mediations. She has also conducted a legal practise independently across wills and estates, succession, capacity, substitute decision-making, and is currently undertaking a Master of Applied Laws majoring in Wills and Estates.

In 2025, Caroline completed accreditation as a mediator under the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards, and she is now pursuing specialist accreditation in elder mediation. Her practice brings together everything she has learned across fifteen years of regional practice: how families argue, how those arguments feel from the inside, and how they can be resolved before they end up in court.

Caroline mediates the disputes that concern older people and combines her mediation practice with estate work and advocacy for older clients, including residents of regional aged-care facilities.
